In Gambia all the Bird Guides nicknamed Chris Osprey Man, due to his unique dedication to photographing Ospreys which their identification leg rings. He certainly knew how to find Ospreys in Gambia, which would migrate to same area each year. He became very exited when he would photograph an Osprey that had not been seen before in Gambia. He found Rothiemurchus from Scotland who had a satellite tracker. Spent forever on a man made boat made from a tree going along river in Senegal in a remote area. Boat leaked, had to bail water out now and again. In the end his time and dedication paid off, down tributary river, found the elusive Osprey, managed to take a photo, before flying off. Sure Rothimurchas was annoyed at being found. Chris found him again years later with broken satellite tag which had stoped sending signals to his whereabouts. Chris would go out from 7am to 7pm seeking out various ospreys. His favourite of all times is 5F, which he managed to photograph each year in Gambia. One year 5F moved to another area due to too much disturbance by fishermen. She has been seen this year in Gambia. Chris was all set to see her in February. Just wish he had had the opportunity to use his new camera in February, would taken some superb shots of the Ospreys and other species of birds..
